Song of the Water Kelpie - Celtic Harp - Maevyn Stone

The Kelpie is a horse like creature from Scottish mythology and is the most common water spirit in Scottish folklore. The Kelpie was said to inhabit the lochs and streams of Scotland, a solitary creature the Kelpie viewed humans as their prey. Kelpies can also shape shift into a human, described in its human form as rough and shaggy, its guise often betrayed by the presence of water weeds stuck in its hair. . As is normal in most folklore though there is some romance to the Kelpie myth. A folktale from Barra tells of a lonely Kelpie who takes the form of a handsome young man in order to woo a young woman its fallen in love with. To hide his identity the Kelpie wore a silver necklace, but the young girl realised that the man was a shapeshifter and stole his necklace in his sleep, turning him back to his natural form. She took the Kelpie back to her fathers farm where it worked for a year until the young woman takes it to a wise man who tells her to give the creature back its necklace. The Kelpie shapeshifts again and asks the girl to be his wife, when she agrees he becomes a mortal man and they are married. Outlander Theme Song - Celtic Harp Cover - Skye Boat Song - Maevyn Stone

Outlander Theme Song - Celtic Harp Cover - Skye Boat Song - Maevyn Stone

Outlander Theme Song - Skye Boat Song, is a traditional Scottish tune that has taken several different forms over the years. The first known lyrics were originally written as a Jacobite air (a theme that runs throughout Outlander), recalling the journey of Bonnie Prince Charlie from Uist to the Isle of Skye as he evaded capture after the lost Battle of Culloden in 1746. The tune is much older and like many songs passed down through the oral tradition of bards, does not have an original date attached to it. The next most commonly known lyrics were written by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1885, which are where the series Outlander adapted their lyrics from. Lyrics used in this version are: Sing me a song of a lass who is gone, Say could that lass be I? Merry of soul, she sailed on a day, Over the sea to Skye. Billow and breeze, islands and trees, Mountains of rain and sun, All that was good, all that was fair, All that was me is gone. Sing me a song of a lass who is gone, Say could that lass be I? Merry of soul, she sailed on a day, Over the sea to Skye. ----------------------------------------------------------- http://www.maevynstone.com ----------------------------------------------------------- Buy me a coffee/leave me a tip if you like what I do: www.paypal.me/maevyn ----------------------------------------------------------- Download my music on Spotify, iTunes & Amazon Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3GKNRZD3fHJeLxpmlfZdqr?si=zul1sqxPQb64Im9LZ-OGYg iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/maevyn-stone/1502782703 Amazon: The Forest Whispers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086PK8KB9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rdhoFbVF0QGRR ----------------------------------------------------------- Join my members only group to have access to exclusive unreleased music as well as all of my released music and exclusive live videos in a private FB group! https://maevynstone.com/members-only ------------------------------------------------------------- SOCIAL MEDIA (daily posts!! Celtic Harp Improv in a Winter Field - Maevyn Stone

🌿🌾☁️ ℐ𝓂𝓅𝓇ℴ𝓋 𝒾𝓃 𝒶 𝒲𝒾𝓃𝓉ℯ𝓇 ℱ𝒾ℯ𝓁𝒹 There is a new movement for farmers in Indiana to plant cover crops after they harvest in the fall in order to build organic matter in the soil, protect against wind and water erosion and provide habitat for pollinators and other wildlife before planting cash crops such as corn and soybeans in the spring. This was the first time I had witnessed a green field in the winter here and I was so captivated that I had to take a closer look! The photos I took turned out so great that I decided to take a video even though my boots got caked in mud! I don’t know what is traditionally planted in cover crop fields in this area, but there were all sorts of things growing - the one I recognized though was kale!! Do farmers in your area plant winter crops in their fields?
